Hello again everyone. I recently bought an MDF scrapbook kit and then put it in a draw and forgot about it. Today I have eventually made a start and have created the front cover.
I bought this kit from Hochanda and it comes with lovely quality patterned papers and embellishments. It's one of the pretty gets gritty kits. I have no idea what I'm planning to use this for or what the completed book will look like yet. I never plan when I'm crafting and even when I think I have an idea of what I'm going to do I always produce something different. As usual I've added the obligatory paper flowers...I would seriously struggle to create without them. This is what I did: First of all I traced around the outline of the page onto the reverse of one of the patterned papers and cut out the shape.
Next I spread a thin layer of glue all over the surface of the MDF, making sure there was glue at all the edges and stuck the paper down. Using a sanding block I smoothed the outer edges. Using a fine file I filed the intricate edges.
Using a stencil I then applied modelling paste across the heart detail and then pressed micro beads into this as shown below.
I then added gilding polish to the edges to give a slightly aged look.
Next I roughly stamped an image over the main body of the piece.
I then die cut a fancy hinge in kraft card and using the same gilding polish as used earlier gave it a metallic look and attached as shown.
I finished by adding paper flowers, die cut leaves and pearls. I then added the die cut word 'dream'.
I hope you like it. I will share more pages with you in the coming weeks. Thanks for popping by Leanne x
