Rummage'n around mixed media canvas

Hello everyone.
Today I'm going to share with you how I made my 4x4 canvas for Canvas Corps creative crew.

All crew members were asked to make one of these and what a great challenge as I've never made anything this small before. It was quite a test to get my style into such a small area. However, with such amazing products I managed to complete this in 20 minutes...and believe me that's quick for me!

So here is what I've used:

4x4 canvas
Kiwi glimmer mist spray (Tattered Angels)
Gold glimmer mist spray (Tattered Angels)
Copper colour wash paint (Tattered Angels)
Shabby chic patterned paper (Crafters Companion)
Architextures stash paque-enjoy
Architextures parchment rub on-pose
Architextures tall base chicken wire
Kraft card
Tonic layering tag dies
Crafters Companion edger die
White card
Cosmic shimmer gilding polish-pearl lustre
Crochet lace
Twine
flowers & berries

So here's what I did:

Firstly I sprayed the canvas with kiwi & gold glimmer mist spray.

Next I cut a piece of the chicken wire and fixed to the top right of the canvas.
I then cut a rectangle from a piece of shabby chic paper and distressed the edges with scissors. I then inked the edges with distress ink to make them stand out and fixed this to the left side of the canvas.

I then cut a small tag from kraft card  and used the edger die to give it a decorative edge.I then added the key rub on using a bone folder.

The tag was then sprayed with kiwi & gold glimmer mist spray and fixed to the canvas as shown. I added a length of crotched lace along the bottom.

Next I cut the 'rummage'n around' tag from the stash paque and again inked the edges with distress ink.I attached this to the canvas using foam pads. I covered the MDF frame with gilding polish and once dry buffed it with a soft clean cloth. This was fixed over the tag as shown.

I sprayed a piece of white card with kiwi glimmer mist and die cut a selection of leaves from it. These were then fixed to the frame as shown with flowers, berries and twine bow. Using my finger I then applied copper colour wash paint to the edges of the canvas and to highlight the edges of some of the flowers and leaves. To finish I splattered some gold glimmer mist and copper colour wash paint.
