So I have dabbled in the art of mixed media today, inspired by watching Dali on Hochanda. I thought it was about time I got my paints out and actually started to use them. I've been wanting to develop mixed media techniques for ages but I'm sure like most people it's the fear of the blank canvas that puts me off! I started with a blank 6x6 card and and coloured the edges with gold metallic paint. I tore 2 mats from Saras shabby chic paper and glued them to the card base. I mixed texture paste with gold metallic and glamour dust paint and applied this to the card through a segment of a large stencil and gave it a blast with a heat gun to speed up the drying. Lace was glued to the left of the card. I painted a MDF frame to give it a rusty look and embellished it with various bits and pieces.
